Their specialised IT and colour management systems, global supply chain and innovative approach has enabled them to develop inspirational ideas for their customers and thereby become a global leader in cotton threads.

Challenges

At past system process is fragmented with client demand / business requirement transferred manually to the client’s offices from the customer location and in most cases with multiple touch points and manual data transfer before the request reaches the lab. The greatest time delay in the current manual process appears to be the time taken for a fabric sample (swatch) to reach the lab which is the only point currently where colour matching can take place on spectrophotometers. Based on the market research done by our client, with the previous system; it could take up to 5 to 7 days to deliver customers requirement from time of request. In order to become winner among their competitors our client conducted Market research and the results indicated that to be the winner in the market place, the client need to deliver their customers request within 1 to 3 days and they were striving to achieve 2 days lead-time and this was their business requirement .

What We Did

Integrated Software Solution from ANGLER

Web Application Development

After the great level of discussions between ANGLER and the client, it is been concluded to develop a web application in which all the client’s customer requests (Business requests) will be captured as a digital data and the same will be send to the existing .NET application which is used in the respective laboratory located in the different countries in a fraction of second by means web services. Here, one of the key / main data is the colour choice from the customer to prepare a sample thread. So, to maintain the accuracy, the client had a choice to go for the spectrophotometer which reads the colour exactly and present in terms of XML data. ANGLER had successfully manipulated this colour data and provided a Bluetooth interface for this XML to get attached as part of the customer request. This enabled the laboratory users to receive this XML and other data; to prepare the sample thread and to change the status in the web application. This request is been staged at various levels of the client’s business process from start to end based on the nature of the request.

Mobile (Samsung Galaxy Tab) Application Development

The client had suggested us to check feasibility of developing the stand alone mobile application with Samsung Galaxy Tab to improve the user experience. So we had done an R&D on Samsung Galaxy Tab to check the feasibility of interacting with Spectrophotometer to receive the colour value of the textile fabric and turned with the positive result. Thus, a standalone mobile application has been developed with necessary modules to transfer the customer request thru TAB at customer place.

SYNC

To maintain the originality of the data, we have also implemented the “Auto & Manual Sync” technique between TAB and the web application.

SMS

ANGLER had also implemented the Automated SMS concept to acknowledge the customer and internal user regarding the status of the sample thread request from the customer. This will trigger an automated SMS from the web application at the end of each specified process with the relevant details to know the order status. Customer can also reply to this SMS to provide feedback on acceptance / rejection of the delivered order.

Multilingual

Due to the diversified global business activity of the client, we have also implemented multilingual aspects globally to enhance the user experience at both customer end and inside the client’s company.

Integrated Software Solution ONLIVE Now

Above said integrated software solution had been rolled out in the name of “COLOUR EXPRESS” for the pilot markets (China & Srilanka) and the response was too good.
